The Service Desk is the single point of contact for all services at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, including ICT, Facilities, and Logistics requests. This multi-functioning Service Desk handles various requests with the goal of resolving issues on a first-time resolution basis. The Service Desk Analyst Apprentice is responsible for logging, progressing, and resolving these requests promptly according to our SLAs. The Service Desk operates from 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Handle all telephone calls, emails, self-service, and personal visits to the Serco Service Desk.
2. Ensure all incidents & service requests reported to the Service Desk are correctly recorded and managed via the helpdesk tool.
3. Perform initial diagnosis, categorisation, and prioritisation of incidents and service requests, and carry out first-line resolutions where applicable.
4. Escalate unresolved incidents to second-line support teams.
5. Create user accounts in the People Directory and Active Directory following established procedures.
What we’re looking for:
* Maths and English GCSE grade A-C/9-4 or equivalent
* Proficiency in PC use, with experience in MS Office, including Outlook and Teams
* Strong communication skills across all levels and methods (spoken, written, behavioural)
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team
