Stakeholder Account Manager

The Growth Company’s (GC) Business Growth Hub (BGH) team has an exciting opportunity for a Stakeholder Account Manager, a role focused on supporting businesses across Greater Manchester to start, grow, and innovate.

The Stakeholder Account Manager plays an important role in managing the relationship between The Growth Company and Local Authorities. Aligned to a specific Local Authority area, the role coordinates GC delivery activity locally and ensures business support reflects the needs and priorities of the local economy.

Working closely with colleagues across GC, Local Authorities, and key partners, the Stakeholder Account Manager helps ensure that support for businesses is inclusive, place-based, and delivers meaningful economic impact.

Please note, there is an expectation for this role to be based in Tameside for three days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Establish a strong relationship between The Growth Company and the Local Authority, building trust and understanding their ambitions and challenges.
2. Have detailed knowledge of the local economic strategy, supporting its development and evolution, and ensuring GC business support aligns with local priorities and participation in relevant economic forums.
3. Attend events and run drop-in clinics representing Business Growth Hub services, engaging with businesses, registering new clients, and referring them to appropriate Growth Hub support.
4. Work in partnership with colleagues from specialist services and GC business units to deliver activity that generates economic impact within the area.
5. Develop a delivery plan in collaboration with the Local Authority for GC activity and maintain awareness of all delivery across the district.
6. Manage regular meetings with advisors working within the Local Authority area to coordinate activity, review client engagement, and monitor economic impact.
7. Meet regularly with the Local Authority to provide updates on Business Growth Hub activity, working with the Business Intelligence team to review performance data and use insights to inform future planning.
8. Build strong relationships across The Growth Company and external stakeholders, including private sector partners and sector organisations, to ensure businesses receive the most appropriate and holistic support.

11. Experienced in strategic relationship management and business development.
12. Confident working with multiple stakeholders across the public and private sectors.
13. Good understanding of current social, economic, and political priorities, particularly within Greater Manchester.
14. Professional and committed to continuous improvement in service delivery.

Skills Required:

15. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with colleagues and stakeholders.
16. Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation skills.
17. Ability to understand and analyse data, drawing conclusions to support decision-making.
18. Ability to build strategic consultative relationships at a senior level and achieve results through collaboration.
19. Ability to monitor projects against milestones, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and managing expectations.
20. Ability to deliver quality outcomes in a fast-paced, target-driven environment while working effectively as part of a wider team.
