Civil Engineer Location: Gateshead Job Type: Full-time / Permanent Salary: £45,000 - £55,000We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join our client award-winning Civil and Structural team. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in drainage and highway design, SuDS, Flood Risk Assessments, and earthworks. You will lead the technical delivery of civil engineering consultancy services across a range of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to our clients' high-quality standards. Day to Day of the Role: Lead the technical delivery of civil engineering services from feasibility through to planning, detailed design, and construction. Work on a variety of projects including Housing, Commercial, Residential, and Extra Care developments. Utilise design-based software for innovative infrastructure solutions. Engage with both public and private sector projects, adhering to relevant UK design standards. Collaborate with a team of experienced technical staff to ensure project success. Required Skills & Qualifications: BEng, MEng, MSc, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering. Minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience within an engineering consultancy environment. Proficiency in producing drainage and highway drawings, design calculations, technical reports, and site appraisals. Knowledge of UK planning procedures and relevant design codes. Experience with technical software including AutoCAD, Microdrainage/Flow, Causeway Live/PDS/Civil 3D, and AutoTrack. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
