Overview
Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs are required in Shropshire. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.
At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We support children and young people with SEN / SEND (Special Education Needs / Disabilities) and other needs such as SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We work to transform the quality of education provided to these learners, using a trauma-informed, holistic approach and 1:1 tutoring when appropriate. Tutors are supported throughout placements by our SEN / SEND Support Specialists and our tutor community.
This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs, referred to Targeted Provision
* Support learners referred by local authorities and schools with their educational and social-emotional journey
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
Responsibilities
* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Deliver engaging sessions tailored to individual needs and progress their educational and social-emotional journey
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on learner progress
Requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS/QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience with learners who have SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD or other additional needs
* Understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can assist with obtaining this at cost)
* Two professional references
* UK residence and right to work in the UK (including for remote assignments)

Employment Status
* Engagement as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
* Contract for service with payment via PAYE
* No guaranteed hours or expenses coverage
* Company insurance covers the work you do
* Not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
