Overview
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Manchester. This role involves the design, development, and commissioning of control systems across a range of industrial automation projects. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, innovative solutions to clients across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop control systems using Siemens TIA Portal
* PLC and HMI programming, testing, and debugging
* Produce electrical schematics using EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical
* Support system integration, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and site commissioning
* Work collaboratively with mechanical, electrical, and software teams
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues during installation and operation
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards and safety regulations
* Provide technical documentation and support to clients
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a Controls Engineer or similar role
* Strong proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal (PLC/HMI programming)
* Experience with electrical design software (EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical)
* Good understanding of industrial automation systems and processes
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
* Experience with machine vision systems
* Knowledge of robotics (programming, integration, or commissioning)
* Experience working in manufacturing, logistics, or process industries
* Familiarity with industrial networks and communication protocols (e.g., Profinet, Ethernet/IP)
