Job Summary
This position is a professional role committed to delivering programs on-time, within budget and to quality targets. The successful individual will improve the effectiveness of project teams through the application of industry accepted program and project management methods, techniques, tools, and training, and provide leadership and expertise in program and project management processes to ensure that the most efficient and cost-effective implementation of products and services is delivered.

The location for this position is Peterborough, UK. Relocation assistance is not available. This position might require up to 10-15% travel to other Caterpillar facilities in the UK.
What You Will Do
* Deliver planning meetings for smaller projects with little or no supervision. Collaborate with functional areas to develop a detailed work breakdown structure (WBS) and translate the WBS into credible project and program plans, while leading on program and project management standard processes.
* Develop and maintain program/project management schedules in Microsoft Project using GPMUK tools and processes. Capture activity information, identify relationships, and resolve schedule conflicts.
* Coordinate with Program Leads to schedule and support program control meetings and compression sessions; perform schedule updates, explain changes, resolve logic errors, and recommend corrective actions.
* Create and maintain issues/action logs, risk registers, scope change requests/logs, program work plans, and program cost tracking; provide workshop planning, execution, and follow-up assistance.
* Work daily with project team members to advocate robust planning to achieve on-time, on-cost, and quality targets. Provide administrative planning and follow-up for program teams, steering committees, and governance reviews.
* Train other Program Coordinators and project teams in program management processes and software. May create report packages and communicate/post program or project status; may maintain a program website.
What You Have
* A college or university degree or evidence of progressively responsible job-related experience in Program Coordination, Information Technology, Engineering, project management or NPI
* Proven experience with project management concepts, including project charters, scheduling and planning projects, and on-time delivery
* Strong project management and indirect leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, ability to multitask, strong analytical and organizational skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or influence stakeholders inside and outside the department
* Extensive knowledge of project management software (MS Project desirable), MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and Web Publishing tools
