A leading public sector organisation is undertaking a major transformation of the technology platforms that underpin critical digital, scientific, and operational services.
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Digital Product Manager to drive the roadmap, delivery, and optimisation of shared internal cloud platforms and developer services. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a complex, data-intensive environment modernising legacy systems and enabling engineering teams to deliver faster, safer, and more efficiently.
You will join a high-performing technology function responsible for cross-cutting capabilities such as cloud services, APIs, developer tooling, infrastructure platforms, and shared services.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the product roadmap and backlog for one or more internal cloud/platform products.
* Develop business cases for investment in service improvements and third-party supplier engagements.
* Collaborate with engineering, architecture, operations, and delivery teams to deliver incremental product enhancements.
* Understand internal user needs (developers, engineers, support teams) and convert these into prioritised deliverables.
* Define and track measurable outcomes including adoption, usability, reliability, and performance.
* Manage renewal of cloud technology contracts and supporting commercial services.
* Balance short-term operational stability with long-term platform sustainability and compliance.
* Communicate priorities, trade-offs, risks, and delivery progress clearly to senior stakeholders.
* Introduce lightweight product management practices that improve visibility, flow, and continuous improvement.
* Promote Agile, Lean, and user-centred product thinking within technical teams.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Product Manager / Digital Product Manager within cloud, platform, infrastructure, or shared technology environments.
* Strong understanding of AWS, Azure, cloud services, or internal developer platforms.
* Experience managing commercial suppliers, third-party contracts, and bought-in services.
* Demonstrable success owning roadmaps, backlogs, and delivering measurable outcomes.
* Strong stakeholder management across technical and non-technical audiences.
* Experience working in complex legacy / brownfield environments with competing priorities.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues into business decisions.
* Strong prioritisation skills using value-based methods such as impact vs effort or cost of delay.
* Experience applying Agile and Lean ways of working.
Desirable Experience
* Experience within public sector or regulated environments.
* Exposure to developer experience tooling, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, or data platforms.
* Experience supporting digital transformation programmes.
