This role has been designed as onsite with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.
Overview
HPE Labs is an international research organization; the Security Lab researches and develops foundational security capabilities for HPE products and services in collaboration with business units, supply chain, partners and the open-source community. Current projects include confidential computing, post-quantum cryptography, security of AI and applications of AI to security. The Security Lab is seeking an early or mid-career technologist to join the research team in Bristol. The successful candidate will explore innovative ways to solve problems, implement robust prototypes, and co-design systems with colleagues while owning significant components.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to research and development of security capabilities for HPE products and services.
* Collaborate with global colleagues and external collaborators on open-source projects.
* Design and implement robust product-ready prototypes to test and demonstrate ideas.
* Co-design systems and solutions and own the implementation of significant components.
Qualifications
* Degree in computer science or related discipline and around 2-6 years of experience since graduation.
* Participation in research and innovation projects.
* Strong implementation skills with experience in one or more of Python, Rust, C, Go.
* Good knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems and networking.
* Good knowledge of system security techniques and principles.
* Good written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English.
* Comfortable presenting to other technologists.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Team-oriented with ability to collaborate and work independently.
