Cobalt is working with one of the UK's premiere luxury Build to Rent provider as they look to hire a Health and Safety Manager for part of Facilities Team within a regional capacity. You'll play a leading role in proactive H&S provision, liaising with various heads of departments to help drive forward a positive Health and Safety culture throughout the company. This is a predominantly operational role, and will see you actioning measures to ensure our client remains fully compliant with UK Health & Safety legislation. Key responsibilities will include: Delegate and lead on behalf of the Head of Facilities and H&S in their absence. Liaising with key stakeholders to help tweak and enhance current health and safety policies & procedures; Identify any skills gaps and bring to the attention of the Head of Health and Safety. Participate in the selection of contractors and suppliers by evaluating their Health and Safety competence and performance. Developing and maintaining a management system for occupational health and safety to ensure full compliance with UK legislative requirements. Assist in the identification of training needs and objectives for employees, and deliver relevant training as required. Nationwide travel to all sites will be required. Our client is looking for an established Health & Safety Manager who will be supporting the Facilities and Site Management teams. The successful candidate will have a NEBOSH general. certificate whilst a NEBOSH Fire certificate would be viewed positively. TechIOSH will also be a positive. However equally importantly will be your communication skills: namely the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders in order to deliver a positive proactive health and safety provision within the business. Knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 is vital. This role will be covering a nationwide portfolio and require national travel. Your base can be either in the Midlands, Manchester or Edinburgh.
