Well-established SME locally are looking for anInterim Accounts Assistantto provide essential support to the group during a busy period. This is a full-time, three-month contract with the potential to extend. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands-on finance position within a close-knit team and is confident in managing core accounting tasks from day one.
You will enjoyabroad, varied role within a friendly and growing SME, responsible for multiple sites within the group. You will work autonomously but also be part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
Your remit:
* Daily input of sales and purchase invoices into Sage
* Cash management across the group
* Maintaining accurate financial records and updating ledgers
* Performing daily bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
* Generating and sending customer invoices; monitoring and chasing outstanding payments
* Processing supplier invoices, matching to POs, and preparing payment runs
* Managing expenses and company credit card transactions
* Supporting with payroll data input (as required)
* Assisting with month-end duties and balance sheet reconciliations
* Producing reports such as aged debtors/creditors and P&L summaries
* Internal and external query resolution
You will need:
* To be immediately available (or on a very short notice period)
* Ability to hit the ground running with demonstrable experience within a similar role
* Strong cash management experience, along with knowledge of intercompany trading.
* Strong working knowledge of Sage (essential)
* Good understanding of accounting principles and procedures
* Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
* Comfortable with working autonomously and collaboratively within a small team
