Director of Operations – National Veterinary Services
Closing date: 17th May 2026.
Hybrid. Regular national travel required.
Competitive salary.
We are looking for an experienced, credible and values‑led leader with the strategic capability to operate at executive level and the personal impact to lead change at scale. You will bring commercial acumen, emotional intelligence and a transparent, compassionate leadership style, with a proven track record of delivering measurable improvements and change across large, complex, multi‑site operations, within service environments. We are not specifically seeking veterinary operations experience; we are open to people who have worked with other regulated professionals, such as clinicians or other comparable specialists.
The role
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of PDSA’s veterinary services. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and working closely with the Chief Veterinary Advisor, the wider Senior Leadership Team, our Regional Veterinary Managers and hospital teams, you will help shape and lead the delivery of strategic objectives across our nationwide clinical operations. You will have full accountability for performance, quality, efficiency and client experience across a large, complex, multi‑site estate. Leading significant and diverse teams of experts, through senior leaders, you will inspire a culture of collaboration, compassion and continuous improvement whilst having full responsibility for veterinary delivery across the UK. This is not solely an operational role—it is a senior leadership position, contributing to organisation‑wide decisions and helping set the strategic direction of PDSA as a whole, as well as the target operating model for our veterinary services.
