As Production Manager you'll lead a team, and manage the consistent application of processes within the business, ensuring that products are manufactured to the agreed production plan and standard.
You’ll continuously monitor raw materials, all operational processes and the overall production environment to ensure that all activity comply with food safety manufacturing standards.
Effectively communicating with the wider business to report progress against plan, highlighting any risks to the achievement of volumes and standards.
Monitoring and reviewing the team capability, ensuring all staff are clearly focused on their key objectives and are developed to maximise their potential.
* To achieve the very highest standards of hygiene and quality in the factory
* To participate in the development of the ISO quality plans and HACCP quality system and ensure all records are maintained.
* To promote and follow the company’s health and safety policy as set out in the company handbook.
* To make every effort to ensure that the quality and presentation of products meets the required standards and complies with the specifications set out in the Company’s Quality System.
* To liaise closely with the Technical Manager to ensure the products meet the required microbiological standards.
* To always promote staff awareness to hygiene, health and safety and other rules and regulations that appear in the company handbook.
* To manage the workforce with regards to wage adjustments and develop the staff supervisory structure.
* To liaise with the MD regarding staff and to promote and train staff as necessary.
* To undertake the role of Safety Officer and to be responsible for maintaining the appropriate structure within the Company to achieve the desired high standard of safety.
* To attend the regular weekly cheese tastings to monitor the quality of the products.
What we’re looking for
You will need to have hands on knowledge and experience within a manufacturing/FMCG environment, ideally in the Food industry, using that knowledge to make good robust decisions to resolve issues quickly.
Demonstrable analytical skills – ability to pull actionable insight from data.
Prior experience of leading a team and resource planning in a food, manufacturing/FMCG environment- ideally a chilled food business
Experience of managing people in a manufacturing environment.
Computer skills; including MS Excel.
Excellent understanding of health and safety and technical standards
