We’relooking for an Assistant Events Manager (FTC) to join our Colleague Channels and Experience team. This isa great opportunityto shape how we design and deliver events across the Group – creatinghigh‑quality, engaging experiences that bring our strategy and culture to life for colleagues.

The Colleague Communication & Experience team(CC&E)acts as a centre of excellence, rethinking how we deliver integrated, end‑to‑end colleague experiences. Within this, Events focuses on creating consistent,engagingand seamless delivery across in‑person,hybridand virtual formats – ensuring every interaction contributes and lands with clarity and impact.
CC&E team is part ofGroup Corporate Affairs (GCA)-an award-winning team thatprovidesthe insight, counsel, and challenge the Group needs to deliver its strategicobjectives. What'sinvolved in this role?
The colleague communications landscape continues to evolve rapidly, particularly as we adopt the opportunities that technology brings. It is critical that we stay at the forefront of these advances and that tech is used in the best way to enable collaboration and connection.
The Assistant Manager plays a key role in leadingend‑to‑endevent management, while also supporting the wider delivery of events as part of our outstanding approach to engaging internal audiences. Working closely with the Event Delivery Manager and Event Specialist roles within the team, this role is integral to ensuringhigh‑quality, seamless event experiences.
Responsibilities:
1. Provides end-to-end event management and delivery support for large-scale, high-profile internal events, including those led by the GroupExecutiveCommittee(GEC)and other key moments across the Group.
2. Supports the management of the Group and GEC internal events strategy and plan, finding opportunities and challenges to improve impact and value, with a particular focus on event technology.
3. Is responsible forthe creation of event materials (e.g. logistical documentation and project plans) from concept through to delivery.
4. Works closely with GCA business partnering teams as well as colleague campaigns and storytelling team on event content ensuring the content is engaging, impactful and achieves the desired outcomes.
5. Works collaboratively across GCA and the wider business (including Workplace Experience and Modern Workplace) to ensure events are effectively planned and delivered, improving impact and alignment with Group and business unit / function priorities.
6. Challenges constructively, driving real purpose and value of communications and events, helping to reduce the noise for our audiences.
7. Develops measurement and feedback opportunities, gathering insights to support the team’s understanding of the value and impact of events.
8. Collaborates with our in-house creative team to develop high-quality event content.
9. Builds strong relationships with suppliers, including those within the creative events' roster, to support effective delivery.
10. Continuously develops and grows by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities.
11. Establishes andmaintainseffective networks of contacts across the communications job family.
Whatwe'relooking for
12. Has 3–5 years’ events management experience (in-house or agency)
13. Strong experience of virtual and hybrid event platforms to drive audience engagement and participation
14. Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to build effective relationships across communications teams and the wider business
15. Understands the Group communications landscape and works effectively across channel and support teams to deliver integrated, inclusive events
16. Strong planning and prioritisation skills, able to manage multiple events and deadlines in a fast-paced, tech-enabled environment
17. Proactive and adaptable, with a focus on continuous improvement and enhancing the colleague experience
18. AI literate, with a curious mindset and experience using AI responsibly to improve efficiency and creativity
19. Takes ownership of personal performance and development, with a commitment to building expertise in events, tools and best practice
20. Demonstrates strong commercial and audience awareness, with an interest in industry trends, risks and emerging opportunities
21. Able to handle confidential information appropriately, using sound judgement and data-led insight
