THE ROLE:
* A highly varied customer service role requiring an organised and detail-oriented candidate to lead a team of both workshop and field service engineers.
* Implementing industry standards to ensure the highest level of service is maintained throughout the business.
* Provide the highest level of customer service, developing lasting customer relationships.
* Management of ongoing projects and making sure that service standards are being met and problems are resolved.
* Delegating and directing service tasks, monitoring the progress of current projects, and managing service team members to ensure the team\'s objectives are met.
* Handling customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships and ensure repeat customers.
* Maintaining strong relationships with manufacturers and sales representatives.
* Working closely with the parts, workshop and operations managers within the wider company. Reporting on performance data and related financial information.
* Leading our apprenticeship program by identifying, recruiting and training suitable candidates to ensure apprentices can practice and develop their talents to undertake quality and productive work
SKILLS:
* You’re an experienced service manager, engineer or service technician with a strong working knowledge of all industry standards and practices as well as the company\'s products and services.
* You are a proficient problem solver, resourceful, and a solution-based thinker who can deliver a ‘first time fix’ in all situations.
* You have good all-round communication and interpersonal skills, have the ability to relate to each customer\'s unique situation and can manage customer expectations and provide a high standard of customer service.
* You’re used to working in time-sensitive situations where downtime needs to be minimised.
* Your background could be from a machinery dealership, distributor or OEM, and you possess a recognised engineering qualification (from HND to degree level).
* You\'ll have experience of hydraulic and electrical systems (including CANbus), mobile machinery software systems and remote diagnostics, as well as a well-developed range of practical mechanical engineering skills.
* Overseas experience would be of interest, particularly in environments requiring a resourceful approach and where supplies and resources may be in short supply.
* You’re well organised, with good planning, administrative and IT skills.
* Ideally living in the North of England (other areas may be considered), you have a clean driving licence.
