The Role
As Manufacturing Engineer, you will act as the key link between the shop floor and the design function, ensuring that products are manufactured efficiently, repeatably, and to the highest standards. You will support new and existing processes, help resolve production issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
The business operates in a precision machining environment, producing tight-tolerance components, and values engineers who can combine practical experience with structured engineering thinking.
Key Responsibilities
Acting as the interface between design engineering and manufacturing
Supporting CNC machining and production processes to improve efficiency and quality
Reviewing drawings and designs to ensure manufacturability
Providing technical support to the shop floor
Assisting with process development, tooling, and work instructions
Contributing to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Supporting problem solving around quality, yield, and repeatability
About You
Background in precision engineering or manufacturing
Apprenticeship-trained in CNC machining, fitting, or similar or degree-qualified with strong shop-floor exposure
Experience in a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Tooling Engineer or similar role
Experience in precision machining environments such as automotive, aerospace, or similar sectors
Some experience using CAD software (any mainstream package)
Practical, detail-focused, and comfortable working across teams
