Anderson Knight is currently partnering with a leading UK-based end-to-end mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering services business based in Glasgow.
The overall purpose of the role is to ensure that the Quality and Environmental processes and procedures within the business and its supply base are effectively deployed and compliant with UK regulations, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 1090, and Achilles Verify standards across all sites and locations.
The role requires direct line management duties covering Quality and Environment, along with acting as the primary client interface for all Quality and Environmental joint initiatives. The role also involves supporting the HSEQ Director in strategic plans for Quality and Environmental improvements and deliverables.
The key focus of the role is to:
1. Lead, influence, and support the business streams to become process-driven, with compliance at the core.
2. Positively influence quality and environmental culture and performance within executive and operational areas across the business.
3. Support the deployment of quality and environmental management systems and work closely with operational teams to identify environmental risks and hazards, developing controls and mitigation strategies.
Quality Responsibilities include:
* Delivering the quality strategy and providing advice, support, and guidance on all aspects of quality.
* Leading and developing the team, promoting a positive culture and enthusiasm for quality.
* Onboarding and training new team members.
* Ensuring compliance with ISO standards and BS requirements (ISO 9001 and BS 1090).
* Developing internal audit programs and managing audit schedules for compliance assurance across all locations.
* Developing, implementing, and monitoring business processes, including periodic Quality Control checks.
* Collaborating with department heads to resolve quality issues.
* Implementing inspection schedules and collecting KPIs, statistics, and trend data.
* Satisfying client expectations regarding service delivery, ensuring adherence to the Intelligent Quality methodology.
* Creating quality standards and processes for new or existing products/services.
Environmental Responsibilities include:
* Implementing environmental policies and practices.
* Devising strategies to meet targets and promote best practices.
* Developing tools and systems to monitor performance and implement strategies.
* Leading and developing the team to foster a positive environmental culture.
* Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and licenses, such as waste carriers and discharge consents.
* Ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 standards.
* Managing environmental strategy budgets.
About You:
* Working knowledge of UK Environmental legislation.
* Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
* Internal auditor qualification.
* Experience in auditing, implementing improvements, and fostering a positive culture.
* Valid UK driving license.
