About The Role As our IT Assessor you will have your own caseload of learners that you will visit in their place of work and observe and assess a candidate's progress, giving them advice and guidance, setting tasks and offering 1-2-1 support throughout their apprenticeship programme and/or employment. As well as getting to know the learner and their style of learning you will also be building relationships with the employer to ensure the best level of customer service at all times - doing things The QA Way. About The Person This exciting and unique role will put your skills into practice by educating and developing our apprentices to better understand their areas of specialisation. Working with the Head of Apprenticeship Learning to achieve agreed volumes of learner achievement in line with the business strategy and plans, you will carry out high quality mentoring and coaching to employed and/or work placement apprentices to ensure City and Guilds units are completed within agreed time lines. You will be required to travel and complete assessment of all related City and Guilds assignments, covering in-centre, work placements and employed Apprentices and work with the tutorial team to ensure all Apprentices have the required skills and knowledge, prior to work placement/employment, to successfully achieve the mandatory City and Guilds units. Your Skills & Experience Previous Assessor skills and advantage but not essential (graduates welcome) IT Support Skills (1st or 2nd line support) OR Software (coding/programming/systems testing) skills Knowledge of the ICT Professional Competence Apprenticeship frameworks is desirable Excellent communication skills Passionate about helping young people Time management skills A1 Assessors Award (not essential) V1 Verifiers Award (not essential) GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English at grade C or above
