About the school
Prospero Teaching is working with an alternative provision who are recruiting for a deputy head of school. The school specialises in education SEMH students aged 13 – 18 and work in mentoring students for them to return to mainstream education.
The school has a relatively small number on roll, this allows them to create a nurturing and encouraging environment for the students. You must have experience in a mainstream or an alternative provision. It is crucial that you can use your passion for education to foster a love of learning and provide our young people with a stimulating environment where they can learn and flourish.
Expectations within the role:
4. Supporting the Head of School to ensure the quality of education is delivered to a high standard and students are supported accordingly.
5. Ensuring the school is always compliant with the Independent School Standards.
6. Ensuring those with SEND are provided effective interventions and reasonable adjustments are implemented.
7. Ensuring safeguarding practices are effective and additional training implemented where required.
8. Working closely with the Head of School, regional and national staff to drive school improvement.

Location – Northampton
Position – Deputy Head
Type of work – Full time
Start date – ASAP
Contract type – Temp To Perm
Minimum rate of pay – 35k – 42k
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree educated with a good classification, preferably in a key subject area (Maths, Science or English)
Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT,, QTS, etc)
Previous experience working in a leadership role (which we can reference)
Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)
Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential)
Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (training can be provided).

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of £
