Opportunity Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational Lecturer with a proven record of accomplishment in both Film Studies and Film Production teaching and research to contribute to our programmes in Film. Areas of knowledge include Asian cinema, British Cinema and Contemporary American Cinema and a track record in filmmaking, and teaching filmmaking, in one or more of the following craft areas: screenwriting, directing, editing.
This is a full-time permanent position and the starting salary is £46,735
Key Responsibilities
Applicantsshould have the ability to teach film theory and critical approaches to film studies through a non-Western lens, with some expertise in Asian cinema. Experience in teaching British Cinema and Contemporary American Cinema is desirable. They will also have a track record in filmmaking, and teaching filmmaking, in one or more of the following craft areas: screenwriting, directing, editing (e.g., AVID, Premier, DaVinci), producing, production design, sound, or cinematography.
Applicants should have a track record of peer-reviewed research outputs and theability to contribute to the Research Excellence Framework (REF).They should have experience of teaching at an undergraduate and postgraduate level and demonstrate abilities to adopt innovative pedagogic approaches to enhance students learning experiences.
