Support Worker – Supported LivingAre you passionate about helping autistic adults and those with learning disabilities achieve their desired potential?Autism Anglia, a well-established independent charity, is looking for a Support Worker to support a gentleman whom lives with us.This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with individuals as this is a lone working role, helping this individual to develop life skills, achieve personal goals, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.For more information about our charity, visitwww.autism-anglia.org.ukLocationCrockleford Heath, Colchester, CO7 7BJSalary£24,019.54 per annum (£12.45 per hour)HoursFull-time: 37 hours per week (overtime available)We also have part time roles from 16 hours per week available.Please note, unfortunately we do not offer sponsorships and candidates must have the eligibility to work in the UK.About the roleThis role is mainly lone working, supporting the gentleman in a 1:1 environmentWork in partnership with the wider Supported Living Team to provide person-centred, outcome-focused supportSupport individual in a variety of activities, including sport, leisure, cultural and recreational events, day tripsHe has a particular interest in computers and online videosAssist with communication, sensory support, or psychological monitoring and interventionsEnsure all support plans, risk assessments, and documentation are accurate, up-to-date, and reflective of individual needsFollow Safeguarding procedures and act promptly on any concernsWe welcome applications from individuals who:Have experience as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant (HCA), Carer, Senior Support Worker, or Team Leader, preferably with autism or learning disabilities.Hold a full UK driving licence, or be able to travel to Crockleford HeathCan identify and support the needs, wishes, and aspirations of individuals with communication needs.Are experienced in providing intensive behavioural support.Have strong communication skills and experience coordinating activities in the local area.Most importantly, we are looking for individuals with compassion, patience, and a genuine passion for empowering others.Benefits & SupportAt Autism Anglia, we know our staff are key to our success.
