Specialist Perinatal Nurse Practitioner – NELFT NHS Foundation Trust
The Perinatal Parent Infant Mental Health Service is a Trust-wide multi-disciplinary mental health provision working with pregnant and postnatal women experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated nurse who is an experienced practitioner in the field of mental health, and who has experience and/or a strong interest in Perinatal Mental Health to join our well established service.
Responsibilities include working with pregnant service-users in the antenatal and post-natal period who present with complexity and significant levels of risk, managing a caseload of women within a clinic setting, and some home visiting. You will work with the wider systems such as Mother and Baby Units, Maternity Services, Universal services, Children’s Social Care and Secondary Mental Health Services, including family and carers, and patients who frequently present to crisis services.
Role suits passionate professionals who are passionate about working within a multi-disciplinary team comprising Perinatal Consultant Psychiatrists, experienced Psychotherapists, Perinatal Community Mental Health Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Nursery Nurses, specialist pharmacy, and excellent team administrators.
Probationary period: the post is subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt unless they are currently part way through a probationary period or a bank member of staff.
Induction: All new starters join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction up to two weeks including mandatory training, systems training and allocation of equipment. Induction is held at the head office in Rainham, Essex. New starters will meet the executive team, senior managers and attend drop‑in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.
Pay: High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of basic salary, with a minimum of £4,551 and maximum of £5,735 pro rata for part-time staff.
