At Job&Talent, we are recruiting Shunter drivers to work with an important company in Worksop.
Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday 22:00 - 06:00
As a Shunter Driver, you will need to have:
* Full Class 1 HGV driving license
* A self-starter with a positive attitude, capable of working on your own initiative
* Understanding of Supply Chain in the UK
Role of a Shunter Driver:
* Ensure trailers are taken on and off the infeed docks in a timely manner as communicated by Operations.
* Ensure empty trailers are on the relevant outbound docks and secured for loading.
* Communicate with the Warehouse team to ensure drivers and sub-contractors are given the correct trailer for scheduled movements.
* Move trailers around the site safely, following all health and safety procedures, and report any incidents or near misses.
* Ensure customer materials are not damaged during transportation.
* Check trailers for good condition before use and report defects to Operations.
* Complete scheduled trailer movements around the site, including docks and trailer park.
* Prioritize workload to meet time commitments.
* Accurately complete reports and documentation.
* Wear all relevant ID passes and comply with uniform requirements.
* Record working and driving hours accurately to comply with regulations.
* Achieve targets related to productivity, service, and compliance.
* Adhere to health and safety rules, especially during loading and unloading.
* Perform daily vehicle safety checks, ensure safe loading and securing of loads, and report maintenance issues.
* Operate IT systems as required.
