Overview
Production Manager (Chiltern) role at CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles).
Based in the UK with potential travel to project locations. CAF is a global leader providing maintenance and technical support for trains and trams, committed to safety, reliability, and sustainable commuting experiences.
What you will do
* Plan and organise ongoing corrective repairs of vehicles, prioritising work by safety, reliability, and client requests
* Provide technical support to technicians and team leaders
* With the Maintenance Engineer, schedule vehicles for planned maintenance per the maintenance plan
* Plan and draw up implementation schedules for modifications and fleet campaigns; produce weekly or agreed progress reports
* Release Work Orders in GMAO for fleet modifications and campaigns
* Coordinate with engineering & maintenance departments, clients, and other stakeholders to deliver vehicles for passenger service in line with the plan
* Produce implementation plans for complex tasks with significant impact or risk to daily operations
* Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed
* Organise supplier or third-party site attendance for specialist repairs
* Maintain accurate records in GMAO and other systems
* Collate and analyse data, generating production reports for the project
* Work with Materials Manager to ensure stock levels support maintenance and modification work
* Select special equipment and maintain it where appropriate
* Drive efficiencies by reviewing and improving processes and stakeholder interactions
* Maintain high quality standards in line with industry, site, and company standards
* Produce RAMS or other site-specific method statements and work instructions
* Agree vandalism material usage and produce summary vandalism reports
* Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed; undertake and support internal and external audits
* Supervise, motivate, and lead CAF maintenance teams
* Review performance and identify training needs; plan and deliver training as required
* Monitor competence levels of technicians and plan assessments
* Undertake competency assessments as required
Salary and critical information
Salary: £64,000 per annum (Real Living Wage Employer).

To succeed in this role you will need:
* Recognised project or people management qualification
* Relevant engineering qualification
* Proven experience in production planning and people management
* Experience in engineering or rail environments
* Understanding of onboard vehicle systems and components
* Clear understanding of Safety Critical work
