Ensure an efficient reception service is provided to patients and visitors to the practice Deal with general enquiries, explain procedures and make new/follow up appointments Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy and appropriate delivery Liaise with GPs/Nurses and carry out tasks as requested Other regular duties: Action prescriptions, Chaperone patients (training provided), keep up to date with changes in policy and procedure, advise patients of payments for private services, process payments, computer data entry, filing medical records Premises: Open up premises at the start of the day. When last to leave at the end of the day, ensure that the building is totally secured Facilitate communication between patients and members of the primary healthcare team, secondary care and other associated agencies. Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as required by the Partners, Practice Manager Reception Team Leader.
