We’re supporting a specialist manufacturing business who are looking to recruit Maintenance Engineers - Night Shift.
What’s the role all about?
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll provide engineering support across manufacturing operations, ensuring machinery, automated equipment and production systems operate safely and efficiently.
You’ll be involved in both reactive and preventative maintenance activities, while also supporting continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing downtime and improving overall equipment performance.
This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment where reliability, fault finding and teamwork are key.
Key responsibilities
Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment
Respond to breakdowns and restore equipment operation efficiently
Fault find across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and automated systems
Support continuous improvement and efficiency projects
Monitor and improve equipment KPIs including MTBF and MTTR
Maintain accurate maintenance and calibration records
Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, 5S and Lean initiatives
Assist with installation, maintenance and optimisation of production equipment
Support and mentor maintenance technicians where required
Work closely with Production, Engineering and Facilities teams
Promote high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
What you’ll need
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
Time-served engineering apprenticeship with HNC/HND or equivalent experience
Experience within a manufacturing or production environment
Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills
Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings
Experience working with automated production equipment
Good communication and teamwork skills
Strong understanding of preventative maintenance practices
Desirable
Experience with PLCs (Mitsubishi preferred)
Knowledge of robotics, conveyors or hydraulics
Experience applying Lean Manufacturing techniques
Previous experience leading or mentoring small teams
