Accounts Assistant
Location: Liverpool, Merseyside
Salary: £28K - £30K

We are working with a leading UK business in the environmental services sector. Our client is the UK's foremost supplier of premium cooking oils and a major collector of used cooking oil and food waste. They are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their Finance team in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional who is either qualified by experience or working towards an ACCA, CIMA, or AAT qualification.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of weekly management accounts with KPIs and supporting information
* Preparation of monthly management accounts
* Variance analysis: weekly vs monthly vs budget
* Bank and cash reconciliations
* Weekly/monthly payroll analysis and journals
* Accruals and prepayments
* Balance sheet reconciliations and variance investigation
* Support in annual budgets and forecasts
* Internal audits to strengthen site controls
* Assistance with year-end audits and auditors
* Supporting information for monthly tax computations
Experience & Skills Required
* Qualified by experience or studying ACCA, CIMA, or AAT
* Proven experience in a similar role, independently managing monthly accounts
* Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* High attention to detail and accuracy
