A client within the Public Sector based in Merseyside is currently recruiting for an Area Team Leader to join their Building Control team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority Building Control environment.
The Role
The key purpose of the role is to assist the Head of Building Control in leading a team of Building Control Officers in the delivery of Building Regulation compliance and supporting the Building Safety Regulator.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Managing and coordinating a team of Building Control professionals across a defined geographical area.
* Ensuring statutory and service targets are met for plan assessments and site inspections.
* Supporting and deputising for the Head of Building Control as needed.
* Providing high-level technical advice and assessment on complex building projects.
* Overseeing dangerous structures, demolitions, and safety at sports grounds compliance.
* Delivering against KPIs and maintaining QA systems aligned with the Building Safety Regulator.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
* Full professional qualification (e.g., RICS / CABE / CIOB / MIFE).
* LABC/CIOB Level 6 in Building Control or demonstrable auditable experience in the industry.
* Demonstrated competency to Specialist Level including 3H as per Building Safety Regulator requirements.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
* Experience managing Building Control services in a local authority.
* Extensive knowledge of Building Regulations, enforcement, and complex schemes.
* Experience in preparing performance monitoring reports and managing QA systems.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £80 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £60 per hour PAYE).
