Overview

Specialist SEN Support Assistant

Location: Horsham

Daily Rate: GBP90.00 - GBP95.00

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday - Friday (Term Time Only)


The Role

Do you possess a genuine drive to transform the lives of students with additional learning requirements? We are looking for a motivated, steadfast, and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistant to join our expert academic teams throughout Horsham.

This position is ideal for a professional seeking a stable environment where you can cultivate strong, impactful bonds with students and witness their growth throughout the school year. You will play a pivotal role in assisting students with diverse complex requirements, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, empowering them to achieve their full academic and social potential.


Responsibilities

* Deliver Targeted Assistance: Partner with specific cohorts or individual learners to provide a reliable foundation for their success.
* Execute EHCP Goals: Utilise Education, Health and Care Plans to facilitate customised learning objectives and developmental milestones.
* Manage Behavioural Needs: Apply uniform techniques to navigate complex behaviours and encourage healthy emotional self-regulation.
* Foster Independence: Enhance students' interpersonal skills and self-reliance, guiding them through social exchanges and everyday habits.
* Engage in Teamwork: Act as a crucial member of a diverse professional group, including classroom teachers, SENCOs, and visiting specialists.
* Provide Personal Care: Offer assistance with personal care as needed, maintaining the students’ dignity and wellbeing at all times.


What We Are Looking For

* Skilled: Practical experience assisting learners with SEN (Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or MLD) is a prerequisite.
* Reliable: Seeking a long-term placement where you can become a cornerstone of the school environment.
* Tenacious and Empathetic: Capable of staying composed in demanding situations and acting as a dependable mentor for pupils.
* Effective Liaisons: Skilled at establishing quick connections with students, colleagues, and families.
* Qualified: Preferably possess a Level 2 or 3 TA qualification or substantial relevant professional history.
