Overview
Senior Social Worker - CAAS (Contact Advice & Assessment Service)
Sanctuary Personnel has a permanent, full-time position in Berkshire for a Senior Social Worker within the CAAS (MASH) Team. Salary up to £45,441 per annum.
Responsibilities
* Manage an allocated caseload appropriate to the extensive experience of the Senior Social Worker, including complex assessments of children, families, parenting and other work to meet statutory requirements.
* Work within West Berkshire policies, procedures and good practice guidelines to meet the needs of the children and families allocated.
* Engage with children and young people, families, carers and communities to help them clarify needs, make informed decisions, and contribute to service planning.
* Maintain up-to-date case notes and records, write reports (including court reports), and provide evidence in court.
* Undertake specialist assessments for your own and other workers’ cases for court proceedings, including parenting and kinship assessments.
* Ensure casework is up to date, comprehensively written, and managed within agreed timescales.
* Stay informed about contemporary issues in children's social work, legislation and evidence-based practice, and apply this to practice.
* Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to gather information to inform assessment and care planning, and jointly plan interventions.
* Participate in planning and reviewing cases of children in care, child protection and foster/adoption arrangements.
* Provide constructive challenge to enhance practice, procedures, policies, and introduce new ways of working.
* Provide leadership and professional wisdom to colleagues and other professionals for work in high-complexity situations.
* Model and facilitate reflective and evidence-informed practice, contributing to knowledge development and excellence in the field.
* Carry out any other duties commensurate with the post to support efficient service delivery.
Requirements
* A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Registered or eligible for registration.
* Flexible working where possible between 07:00–19:00.
* Hybrid working where possible, with 40% in the office.
