Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant
Are you passionate about working with children with additional needs (social, emotional, mental health, SEN, behavioural needs)?
Do you have experience in positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques?
We are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to provide person-centred support to individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours related to learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, and mental health issues. The successful candidate will work in a mainstream primary school, supporting children and young people who need 1:1 assistance due to reasons such as:
1. Anxiety
2. Exclusion
3. Speech and language difficulties
4. Physical and mental health issues, disabilities, and learning difficulties
Requirements:
* Experience working with children and young people displaying challenging behaviour
* De-escalation training (advantageous)
* Background in youth work or similar roles considered
* Confidence in decision-making
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
* Empathy and understanding
* Willingness to undertake professional training and development
