Lead Gas Engineer (NCO2)
Location: Orpington, West Sussex (Worthing, Crawley), Poole
Salary: £36.3k per annum with increase to £40.4k upon successful completion of probationary period, plus £6,000 sign‑on bonus if fully qualified
We are looking for qualified NCO2s or experienced Service Layers (minimum 3–4 years) who are willing to complete Main Layer training.
Responsibilities
* Work predominately on gas service/mains replacement activities, excavating in public and private highways for the laying and repairing of gas pipes
* Work in a variety of outdoor environments, safely and as part of a team
* Use computer field systems
* Achieve high standards of safety and technical competence
* Opportunity to mentor trainee engineers
Requirements
* Qualifications (Required): GN01, GN02 (Main Layer) OR GNO1, GNO2 Service Layer experience (3–4 years minimum) with willingness to complete Main Layer training
* Qualifications (Preferred but not essential): NRSWA, ELR, SCO 1, 2, 4, 5
* A full and valid driving licence
* Confidence using technology and field‑based systems
* A friendly and approachable attitude with excellent customer service skills
