What will you be doing? To ensure British Cycling's compliance with data protection and privacy laws, championing best practice and maintaining the trust of our customers, partners, and funders. The Data Protection Officer will serve as the key point of contact for all internal and external data protection matters. The Data Protection Officer will provide pragmatic, risk-based advice and will foster a culture of privacy positivity across the organisation.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
* Practical knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations and their application in a business setting, including General Data Protection Regulation, Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and the Data Protection Act 2018
* Ability to collaborate and build strong stakeholder relationships and capable of influencing at all levels of the organisation in a friendly and constructive manner
* Pragmatic and risk-based adviser
* Experience of developing data protection policies and procedures and monitoring, training and advising on compliance
* Experience of conducting data protection audits and working with others constructively, persuasively and promptly to address adverse findings
* Good knowledge of information security
