Donor Services Clinical Support Officer – Clinical Support Team

On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow.
As part of this transformation, NSS and NES joined to form Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland), supporting the renewal and long‑term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.
About the Organisation
PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS to accelerate national programmes and support the NHS to deliver better care.
We support staff with education and training, provide tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.
The Post
This national post is based in the Clinical Support Team and will involve a degree of home working. Induction training takes place at one of our designated bases.
The Candidate
We are recruiting an enthusiastic, motivated, flexible person to provide frontline advisory service to donors and perform the administrative duties associated with the collection of blood and blood products. The candidate should be customer‑focused, have a friendly telephone manner, and be able to work as part of a team.
Candidates must be educated to a higher grade level and have excellent keyboard skills and a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Access. They must possess excellent communication skills, be able to multitask and work under pressure. Previous relevant healthcare or donor care experience is advantageous.
Flexible and willing to work variable hours if required.
Location and Working Pattern
The post will be based at either Jack Copland Centre, Edinburgh or Gartnavel General Hospital, Glasgow. Currently a hybrid working model.
Monday to Friday, 1 x 36 hours per week or 1 x 22.2 hours per week.
Applicants must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK.
