This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor looking to further develop their career within a respected practice handling a broad range of criminal matters – To apply please call Teagan on and quote Job Ref: 3099JOB TITLE: Criminal Duty Solicitor PQE REQUIRED: 1+ LOCATION: South Yorkshire SALARY: £40,000+ (DOE) THE ROLE:The successful candidate will join a busy criminal department and will handle a varied caseload of criminal defence matters. The role will involve attending police stations and Magistrates’ Courts as part of the duty rota, advising clients at all stages of the criminal process and conducting advocacy where appropriate. You will be responsible for managing your own caseload, preparing matters for court, liaising with counsel where necessary and ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with Legal Aid Agency requirements. The role offers exposure to a wide range of criminal matters within a supportive and collaborative team.THE CANDIDATE:Applications are welcomed from Duty-Qualified Criminal Solicitors with at least 1 year PQE and solid experience in criminal defence work. The successful candidate will be confident attending police stations and Magistrates’ Courts, with strong advocacy, communication and client care skills. You will be capable of managing a busy caseload, working both independently and as part of a team and committed to delivering high-quality representation to clients. Duty Solicitor status is essential for this position.
