An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Transcriptionist Team Leader to join Knowsley Administrative Team.
Overview
The post holder will provide comprehensive admin support to Consultants and Junior Medical Doctors in Community Mental Health Services.
Our community mental health teams work with people with severe and enduring mental health issues as well as those with less severe illness who have not responded to provided interventions in primary care services. They offer flexible, responsive and proactive integrated services to individuals with severe and complex mental and behavioural disorders.
The service offered to individuals will be provided in the most appropriate setting primarily within the individual's own home and enable individuals in crisis to achieve the highest level of functioning possible in the least restrictive setting; preventing unnecessary hospitalisation and facilitate more rapid discharge from an acute care setting.
Responsibilities
* Plan, organise, direct and co‑ordinating the work of the identified service.
* Organise workload and coordinate workload activities within the team.
* Work with minimum supervision, demonstrating flexibility and initiative.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times and adhere to Trust Policies and Procedures.
* Support the medical team to utilise time efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications
* Proficient in the use of audio‑typing and word‑processing packages.
* Qualified to RSA Level 3 typing/word‑processing or equivalent.
* Knowledge of medical terminology essential; possession of the AMSPAR certificate required.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly telephone manner.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and withstand the pressure of a busy department.
* Ability to work on own initiative and with minimal supervision.
