This role is ideal for an engineer with project experience—either from an early-career Project Engineer role or from handling project responsibilities alongside maintenance—looking to move into a more project-focused position. Candidates should be multi-skilled, with strong mechanical / electrical expertise, a minimum NVQ Level 3, and proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment. The role operates Monday to Friday on days, with occasional local, national, and international travel (typically 3–4 short trips per year), offering a strong combination of professional development, project variety, and work-life balance. Key Responsibilities: Deliver project work and continuous improvement programmes in line with agreed timescales and budgets Install, relocate, and decommission production machinery and associated equipment Work to defined project programmes while adapting effectively to changing priorities Complete, review, and maintain risk assessments in line with site and legislative requirements Support maintenance and production teams to drive efficiency and achieve KPI targets Travel occasionally to other company sites, nationally and internationally Key Criteria: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical discipline, with strong understanding of the other Experience within packaging manufacturing Knowledge of production equipment maintenance and refurbishment Ability to work independently, making safe and effective decisions Adaptable and responsive to changing priorities Understanding of machinery safety regulations (e.g., PUWER) is desirable Forklift license is desirable If you’re a motivated, adaptable engineer looking to take the next step in your career and contribute to exciting projects, we’d love to hear from you.
