Warehouse Assistant / Forklift Driver
We are looking for a Warehouse Assistant/Forklift Driver in our Goods in/Goods out department to join our small and friendly team.
We are a growing company in a very secure industry and are BRCGS AA accredited.
The hours are 37.5 hours per week, :00 Monday to Friday. There are two 15-minute tea breaks and a 30-minute lunch break which are unpaid.
The salary is £13.00 per hour. Overtime is often available. Wages are paid monthly.
You must have warehousing experience and a 3rd party accredited fork lift licence. We CANNOT accept an inhouse licence. As well as a counter balance, we have a Bendi truck for which you MUST have a separate licence. Both licences need to have been renewed within the last 3 years.

The role involves a mixture of loading, unloading (FLT), booking in/putting away stock, picking, packing, keeping the warehouse clean and sometimes helping stock checking. The role also includes work in the Labelling team as well as Goods In/Out. The role will also require flexibility to cover colleagues absence and holidays on late shift (2.30pm – 11pm) these hours will be paid at a higher rate.
Key tasks include:
* Check condition of FLTs and the completion of daily check lists
* Receive and despatch all goods to and from site. The volume of receipts and dispatches during the night is a small fraction of the day shift volumes
* Ensure the correct acceptance and storage of products and including our food traceability system. This involves printing labels and applying traceability labels to all inbound ingredients and packaging
* Wrapping and labelling pallets correctly (we have a pallet wrapper) ready for despatch
* Ensure the picking and packaging of products for dispatch and shipping are observed to the required standard: Sealed correctly: Dated Correctly: Correctly Documented: Pallet Stacked correctly and that deadlines are met
* Help manage the storage of all stock and ensure that appropriate stock control records are maintained
* Help achieve daily dispatch targets for the department
* Safe disposal and compacting of waste and packaging
* Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy and completing cleaning check documentation
* Supply the kitchen with raw materials and packaging against a daily picklist, and as required
* Complete accurate daily stock check
* Making trays
* Stacking finished cases on pallets
* Help apply labels both manually and on automatic lines
* Putting product into trays, boxes, and shrink wrap
