About the Company
Tyler Hill Consulting (now part of Zenexa Group) is renewable energy developer who specialise end to end development of on shore renewable energy assets across the UK from origination all the way through to RTB.
Tyler Hill Consulting recently received platform level funding to develop, build and operate our 5GW pipeline of on shore renewable energy assets. Zenexa Renewables Limited has been set up to own these projects long term with the goal to become a leading IPP platform to support in the UK's transition towards net zero.
About the Role
As Project Finance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining best-in-class financial models for our portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the UK. Reporting to the CFO, you will produce the core analytical tools that underpin investment decisions, debt financing processes and ongoing asset management. This is a highly technical, high-visibility role for an experienced modeller with deep knowledge of the UK renewables market.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain integrated project finance models (construction, operations and tail period) for utility-scale solar PV, onshore wind and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.
* Ensure models conform to industry best-practice standards (e.g. FAST, Mazars or similar modelling conventions) and are fully auditable.
* Develop portfolio-level consolidation models to support board reporting and investor updates.
* Run scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess project economics under varying assumptions for energy prices, generation, capex and opex.
* Produce investment committee papers and financial summaries supporting FID (Final Investment Decision) approvals.
* Support debt financing processes by preparing bankable financial models, responding to lender due diligence queries and liaising with lenders' technical and financial advisers.
* Model revenue stacking scenarios including CfD, ROC, merchant, co-location and co-optimised BESS strategies.
Valuation & Transaction Support
* Prepare DCF and IRR-based valuations for project acquisitions, disposals and refinancings.
* Support M&A processes by reviewing and auditing vendor models and preparing independent valuations.
* Maintain a library of model assumptions and market data (power price curves, grid connection costs, O&M benchmarks).
Stakeholder Collaboration
* Work closely with the development, engineering and legal teams to translate technical project data into financial inputs.
* Present financial analysis clearly to the CFO, Board and external investors.
* Manage relationships with external modelling auditors and respond to audit queries.
Requirements
* At least 4–6 years of project finance experience in the renewable energy or infrastructure sector (developer, lender, adviser or fund).
* Demonstrable expertise maintaining project finance models for utility-scale renewables (solar, wind and/or BESS) in the UK.
* Strong understanding of project finance structures, debt sculpting, DSCR covenants and cash waterfall mechanics.
* Knowledge of UK renewable energy support mechanisms (CfD, legacy ROC) and power market fundamentals.
* Highly numerate with exceptional attention to detail.
* Experience modelling BESS projects including optimisation revenues (FFR, DC, BM, triads).
* Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with VBA or Power Query advantageous.
* Exposure to lender-side due diligence or model auditing.
* Knowledge of grid connection processes, curtailment and network charging.
* Familiarity with Python or similar tools for data analysis and automation.
* Relevant professional qualification (CFA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
