Bitterne Park School Study / Cover Supervisor Salary: £28,792 – £31,022 per annum (FTE), depending on experience We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our established Cover Team as a Study / Cover Supervisor. This is a key role supporting teaching and learning across the school by supervising classes in the absence of the usual teacher, and by working alongside teachers to support classroom learning, SEMH needs, and small-group interventions. About the Role As a Study / Cover Supervisor, you will help ensure a calm, purposeful learning environment across the school. You will provide high-quality supervision when teachers are absent, as well as support learning during normal timetabled lessons. Your key responsibilities will include: Supervising whole classes during teacher absence as part of the school’s cover team. Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment where students remain focused on set work. Working alongside classroom teachers to support learning, including SEMH support and engagement strategies. Delivering or assisting with small-group interventions to enhance progress and wellbeing. Providing guidance and clarification to students to help them access and complete learning tasks. Recording attendance, behaviour and lesson engagement accurately using school systems. Supporting the wider cover and pastoral team with duties, organisation and administration when cover is not required. Is confident managing a classroom independently and engaging positively with young people. Is calm, consistent and able to support students with a range of needs, including SEMH.
