Worcestershire Integrated Sexual Health havean exciting opportunity for a B5 nurse to join the team at Arrow Side Unit,Redditch. The post is a development post and all training will be provided todevelop the successful candidate. The post is hours a week over 5 days.This is to include occasional Saturday mornings and early evenings.
There is an expectation to be flexible and tobe able to cover other clinics within Worcestershire as required.
The role will include assessment, screening,diagnosing and treatment of those with sexually transmitted infections, whilstinitiating/changing/repeating methods of contraception. This is an excitingtime to join the service with many developments and opportunities.
You will continue to develop your clinical andleadership skills to support the management of change, working with the LeadNurse and wider team to implement an innovative service that reflects local andnational initiatives.

Main duties of the job
Provide evidence basedspecialist sexual health care for patients attending sexual health clinics. Theintegrated specialist sexual health service includes genitourinary medicine(GUM), contraceptive and reproductive healthcare (CRHC),
Responsiblefor contributing to the development of nursing and professional practice inorder to meet the requirements of relevant national strategies and targets andthe clinical governance agenda.
Effectivecare provision through partnership working, provision of appropriateinformation, advice and support to patients to empower them to make informedchoices about their treatment and care and lifestyle choices.
Assess, diagnose and treatgenital conditions with utilisation of microscopy techniques. Supply medicinesunder patient group directions.
Assess contraceptive needsand medical eligibility for contraceptive methods. Supply hormonal methods ofcontraception under patient group directions
Support effective partnernotification strategies to ensure contact attendance and treatment.

Job responsibilities
Work with vulnerable clients and act as an advocate to ensure that sexual health services and other services are accessible and appropriate to their needs
Work in situations that require judgement involving complex facts or situations that require the analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options, for example, assessing competence to consent to treatment in patients under 16 years
Support the senior nurse/clinic lead in managing the operational function of the service.
Provide mentorship for pre-registration students and colleagues, actively contributing to creating excellent learning environments
