Overview
This is an exciting new role within the Poole Adult Community Mental Health Team who are seeking a registered Nurse Associate to join this well established MDT and provide excellent care to residents within Poole. The role will be part of an integrated health and social care team providing care and recovery for patients who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health. The role will offer interventions in a wide variety of clinical, therapeutic and social forms with the aim of promoting health, wellbeing, self-autonomy and independence. The post holder will have a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan and across the fields of nursing, providing holistic and person centred care. They will work effectively as part of a team and provide support and guidance to less experienced staff and student learners within the clinical environment as needed. The nurse associate will work independently under the leadership of the registered nurses, working within the sphere of nursing and care and within all aspects of the nursing process.
Responsibilities
* Manage a defined group of patients/service users under the indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse, using evidence based/client centred principles to undertake a range of delegated tasks independently.
* Contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient/service user care.
* Take responsibility for planned/defined tasks as required.
* Plan and undertake clinical tasks guided by standard operating procedures and protocols.
* Delegate work to support worker staff and learners, as required.
* Supervise and line manage band 2/3 staff and undertake the ongoing supervision of the routine work of others.
* Take responsibility for the training of others and may be required to deliver training.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Registered Nurse Associate (NMC).
* Enhanced DBS check (the Trust will cover the cost). Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide support/guidance to less experienced staff/learners within the clinical environment as needed.
* Be capable of working within the standards of proficiency outlined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and in accordance with Trust policies and protocols.
