A Catholic High School in Southport is seeking to appoint a dedicated and fully qualified Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join its committed team from September 2025, on a temporary to permanent basis.

The Role
The successful candidate will:
* Teach Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential to teach Key Stage 5.
* Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that promote critical thinking, compassion, and moral reflection.
* Uphold and promote the Catholic ethos and values of the school in both curriculum and pastoral roles.
* Contribute to the spiritual life of the school, including participation in liturgies, assemblies, and other faith-based activities.
* Support pupils’ academic and personal development, encouraging them to reflect on ethical, spiritual, and social issues.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
* Have experience teaching Religious Education at secondary level.
* Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring young people through faith and philosophy.
* Be fully supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school (practising Catholic preferred, but not essential).
* Exhibit excellent communication, classroom management, and organisational skills.
* Be a reflective practitioner with a strong commitment to professional growth.
* Be a team player who is eager to contribute to the wider life of the school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
