We are looking for a Medical Systems Field Service Engineer who will be providing technical site support services for GE Healthcare customers in the North East of England and surrounding areas (Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh). You will join our Services Team that partners with our customers to tackle the evolving challenges of global healthcare. You will be responsible for first response and providing solutions to customers experiencing technical system difficulties. You will develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with customers ensuring customer satisfaction and equipment functionality.
Location: North East of England – Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh.
Travel: Approximately 40% of the role will involve travel across the territory.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain all models specific to a modality in the assigned area.
* Perform total system level troubleshooting on complex multi-symptom problems.
* Communicate clearly with end‑users and department managers on equipment status; maintain customer satisfaction.
* Responsible for Warranty and Preventative Maintenance Service contract cost control.
* Assist in Account Sales visits, help train others where necessary, and identify Sales opportunities and communicate them to the account team.
* Complete all administration tasks on time (e.g., ensure timely completion of Field Updates and Service inspections documentation for assigned accounts).
* Maintain effective quality systems and programs compliant with ISO 9001 standard, according to the GEHC Service Quality Policy Statement.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Qualified Technician/Engineer.
* Technical knowledge of high‑tech equipment & devices, preferably within the medical area.
* Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, high work standards and quality.
* Customer‑orientated attitude; deals tactfully and effectively with differences of opinion, excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
* Fluency in English.
* Valid UK driving licence.
