Ameresco Energy Supply Management (ESM) is an award-winning energy management consultancy business, providing strategic advice, risk management and energy analytics and energy optimisation services to clients throughout the UK. Ameresco is going through an exciting period of planned growth and is looking to recruit for an Energy Analyst based out of our office in Leeds, Yorkshire on a hybrid basis.
The ESM function is a leading utility consultancy with an enviable track record and reputation for innovation and exceptional client service. We have a unique combination of energy industry, trading, and financial expertise (developed at Yorkshire Electricity, Npower and BP) that ensures we bring a multi-disciplined approach to the optimal procurement, planning and ongoing management of energy costs, usage, and associated carbon emissions.
Ameresco ESM have placed over 2,000 energy contracts worth in excess of £1 billion with 35+ suppliers on behalf of nearly 200 clients. We focus on a small number of high-value industrial and commercial clients with a considerable energy spend.
Team Structure - Energy Supply Management
There are three main teams within ESM – Client Services, Pricing and Consultancy. The breadth of activities that Ameresco ESM undertakes within the energy space is considerable, and this role is likely to gain the successful candidate significant exposure to these.
Role Scope – Energy Analyst
This is a pivotal role which will reporting directly to a senior leader or director, with responsibilities likely to extend across the whole ESM function. The role may include:
 1. Building and maintaining analytical tools and techniques
 2. Maintaining excellence in data and query management on a daily basis
 3. Supporting requests and client requirements for the ESM function
 4. Assisting the business with complex queries and project work
 5. Perform other duties as assigned
Role Duties – Energy Analyst
 6. Support all teams with data and materials to provide clients with responsive consultancy work
 7. Problem solving for clients
 8. Providing solutions to ad hoc operational queries
 9. Identify and expand Ameresco capabilities with our client facing offers
 10. Energy industry analytical tasks
Experienced in
 11. Handling team and managerial queries in a complex business environment
 12. Ability to handle multiple workstreams and activities
 13. Data analytics
 14. Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of software in particular Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
 15. Handling large quantities of numerical data
Personal Attributes
 16. Enthusiasm, strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn about the UK energy industry is essential
 17. Numerate and pays attention to the details
 18. Good verbal, written and computer communication skills.
 19. The candidate must be self-starter who can identify priorities within the business – there may be periods without close supervision.
 20. The successful candidate will be a clear communicator, confident and have a flexible approach to work. They will be customer focused, passionate about energy and the challenges it presents.
 21. They should be able to demonstrate good organisational skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritise work under pressure and complete within deadlines.
 22. Experience with one or more programming languages i.e. Python (Analyst) is a plus
