Job Purpose
The Apprentice Panel Beater will learn and develop the skills required to repair, restore, and maintain vehicle bodywork to manufacturer and industry standards. Working under the guidance of qualified technicians, the apprentice will gain hands-on experience in accident repair, body alignment, and finishing techniques while completing their formal training program.
Key Responsibilities
Assist qualified panel beaters with vehicle body repairs and restoration.
Learn to assess vehicle damage and identify appropriate repair methods.
Strip and refit vehicle body panels, trims, and components.
Use specialist tools and equipment (e.g., welders, jigs, grinders, and pulling systems) under supervision.
Prepare vehicle panels for painting by sanding, filling, and smoothing surfaces.
Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workshop environment.
Accurately complete job cards, timesheets, and training documentation.
Support the team with general workshop duties as required.
Commit to ongoing learning, attending training sessions, and working towards completing the apprenticeship qualification.

Must be eligible and willing to undertake a recognised Panel Beating / Vehicle Body Repair Apprenticeship.
No prior experience required, but practical skills or interest in mechanics/engineering are advantageous.
Career Progression
Successful completion of the apprenticeship can lead to full qualification as a Panel Beater / Vehicle Body Repair Technician, with opportunities to progress into specialist areas such as:
Accident repair estimating
Workshop supervision
Advanced restoration work.
