Flying Start Additional Needs Coordinator (ANCo)

Salary: PRC-URC / MPR - UPR + CAD 2 / TLR 2

About the Role

Qualified Teacher Status & TLR2.

Full time (32.5hrs), term time only.

An exciting opportunity has arisen, for the position of an Additional Needs Coordinator within the Flying Start Childcare Advisory Team.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who is passionate and experienced and looking to make a real difference to the lives of children. The successful applicant will develop and support childcare provision in collaboration with a range of teams across the early years and childcare sector.

As part of the Welsh Government Flying Start (FS) Programme, there is an emphasis on delivering high quality childcare for children aged 2 - 3 years old. The post holder will be part of a team driving forward quality standards and support to achieve the aims of Welsh Government anti-poverty programme.

The purpose of this role is to:

* Ensure compliance of LA requirements in the implementation of the Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (ALNET) (Wales) Act 2018, ensuring that the individual needs of children are met within Flying Start childcare provisions.
* Effectively lead and provide supervision to the FS Childcare Early Intervention Team.
* Promote high quality childcare provision ensuring best practice and highest standards.
* Collaborate with others to meet the expectations of Wrexham County Borough Council (WCBC), Care Inspectorate for Wales (CIW) and Welsh Government (WG) Flying Start Childcare programme to promote high quality childcare in partnership with private, voluntary, independent, and in-house childcare providers. The shared aim is to develop accessible, inclusive, high-quality childcare that meets the needs of children and ensures availability of enhanced provision.
* Provide advice and support to FS childcare provisions, the FS Advisory Team and wider FS team, in order to meet the needs of the children accessing FS childcare with early intervention / additional needs.

The post-holder will be based at Gwenfro Flying Start Office in Wrexham.
