Overview
The Nursing Support Worker is a vital part of the Multidisciplinary Team. Acting under the direction of Registered Nurses, the Nursing Support Worker is responsible for engaging in a variety of interventions with patients, including direct nursing care, observation and engagement policies, monitoring physical health, and psychosocial interventions in the wider community and in the patient\'s own home. They contribute to the patients\' recovery pathway by modelling effective communication and relationships. Mutual care planning and assessments rely on information gained through direct patient contact provided by Nursing Support Workers.

Main duties
Mental Health Services in Carmarthen are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Nursing Support Workers to join the inpatient team on Bryngofal Ward (Adult Acute Inpatient). Successful applicants will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and must be able to work flexibly within a shift system providing 24-hour cover, 365 days a year. Staff are provided with a supportive working environment and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications and knowledge

* Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject or equivalent experience showing work-based competency and the ability to undertake clinical care duties
* Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW)
* Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures (e.g., safeguarding, confidentiality and GDPR)
* Ability to complete certified/accredited physical intervention training (e.g., PMVA) during induction
