We're recruiting for several technical apprenticeships across both of our sites in Gloucester. By applying we will consider you for all roles unless you state a preference in your application. Who are Safran Landing Systems?
We are a global leader in aircraft landing and braking systems, from commercial and business travel to military and defence fleets. Our expertise cover the entire life cycle of our products from end-to-end: design, manufacturing, maintenance and repair.
What you'll be doing:
* Special Process Apprenticeship
* • Support a variety of specialist manufacturing methods associated with the production of landing gear components
* • Your knowledge and skills will be used to assist our continuous improvement programme to reduce shop processing times, manufacturing hours, and improve product quality
* • You will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering - Technical Support Technician
* Assembly Fitter Apprenticeship
* • Working to aerospace specifications and internal processes this role will enable you to learn all stages of landing gear assembly
* • You will gain an understanding of technical drawings, specifications and procedures that ensure the best quality and on time delivery of all products
* • You will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Fitting
* Machinist Apprenticeship
* • You will learn to operate and set up a range of precision grinding and machining equipment to manufacture and repair aerospace components, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the process.
* • Interpret technical documentation and troubleshoot equipment to maintain strict quality standards and support component repairs.
* • You will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Machining.
Year 1: You will spend time at a private local engineering training provider where the relevant qualification units will be delivered and assessed.
Year 2-3: Delivered and assessed within Safran where you will achieve a Level 3 Diploma. To support individual Development Plans, all apprentices will spend allocated time to work in different departments according to training needs.
Job Requirements
What you'll need to be successful:
* 5 GCSEs, grades 9 – 5, or A* - C (including English, Maths and Science)
* An interest in engineering from school, hobbies, or other experiences
* Positive work ethic and the ability to work both alone and with others
* Willingness to learn and try new challenges
* Strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
* The ability to plan and organise yourself
* A good level of IT literacy
