We are seeking a Director / Head of Software Engineering to lead, scale, and inspire our growing software engineering organisation. Our products leverage cutting-edge AI and Machine Learning to deliver best-in-class services to a diverse global client base.
As the Director / Head of Engineering, you will:
Lead and evolve a high-performing engineering function from 30+ to 100+ engineers, across multiple teams and disciplines.
Own and drive the engineering strategy and roadmap, aligning with business and product objectives.
Be close enough to the technology to guide architectural decisions and set development direction.
Define, embed and continuously improve software development best practices, ensuring code quality, reliability, and scalability.
Champion a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with senior stakeholders, influencing at board level and managing expectations with clarity and confidence.
Develop, mentor, and grow both engineers and engineering managers, building strong career pathways and team capabilities.
You’ll bring:
Proven experience leading engineering teams of 30+ and scaling to 100+ in a fast-paced environment.
A track record of delivering enterprise-grade, client-facing software products with high performance and reliability.
Strong knowledge of AI/ML-enabled systems or a proven ability to lead in data-driven product environments.
Experience working with Video / Audio media products.
Demonstrable experience implementing and advocating for modern engineering practices, tools, and workflows.
Hands-on experience or deep understanding of architecture, coding, and software design — close enough to make informed technical decisions.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical topics to a variety of audiences.
