Job summary

We are lookingfor a permanent full time Medical Receptionist to join our team based at TheRobert Darbishire Practice, the largest and busiest of the three GP practices withinBetter Health MCR. The post is 37.5 hours per week; Monday - Friday 08:00 -16:30.

The postholderwill be required to work flexibly and to provide cover for absence and busyperiods. As part of this, they may berequired to work Saturdays. There mayalso be a requirement for the postholder to work at our other practices fromtime to time.

Salary will be withinthe range £24,638 to £26,177 (pro rata) depending on experience. We offer 5.4 - 6.6 weeks holiday plus bankholidays (pro rata) and optional membership of the NHS Pension Scheme

Main duties of the job

Our receptionteam are the first point of contact for our patients and play an important rolein understanding patients needs, resolving queries, dealing with prescriptionrequests and either booking an appointment with the most appropriate clinicianat the practice or signposting the patient to a service outside the practice.

You dont need tohave worked in healthcare before as long as you have excellent people skills, agood attention to detail and you are willing and eager to learn new skills. Wewill provide in-house training and support.

We operate three GP practices: The Robert Darbishire Practice in Rusholme Health Centre (which is also head office) and which has a branch at The University of Manchester, Brooklands Medical Practice in Wythenshawe and The Whitswood Practice in Alexandra Park Health Centre. In total we have over 44,000 patients.

Our patients are very diverse and include established communities as well as new communities from all over the world. We have good links with the University and a sizeable student population.

Our staff team of about 120 people has a huge range of fantastic skills and experience. We are also our own Primary Care Network, which means our shared (ARRS) staff are fully integrated into our services, providing a seamless service for patients.
